Harley playing in the snow!

Harley Kayleen Carson was an angel  from the beginning. She came into our lives and brought us the greatest joy we've ever known. From the very beginning when she would kick Mommy while she was pregnant to the very end when she earned her angel wings, she brought joy and love to everyone who was around her.

Harley was a free spirit who loved adventure & exploring. If there was a way to get into things, she would find it. One of her favorite things to do (because she wasn't supposed to) was pushing the button on Daddy's X-box game console to eject the game. She would do this while Mom or Dad were in the middle of a video game (and of course the game would never be saved) and then just sit on the floor and smile like she didn't do anything wrong; she just wanted our attention <3. She also loved playing with the tray the video game went in. She never broke it, though she came close. Daddy also let her play with Mommy's game, 'Whacked' in hopes Harley would destroy it, but she never did. That's my girl!

She also loved the '$5 Footlong' song & commercial. She would stop whatever she was doing when that commercial came on, look at the TV and shake her butt with a big smile on her face. It was so adorable! The only other thing on TV that she'd stop playing for was 'Super Why' on PBS. Cameron and I know the whole theme song because we'd always let her watch it since it was her favorite show.

Another cute little trademark of Harley's was she loved to shake her head 'no'. I don't know if she did it because she liked being dizzy or just to see Daddy and I smile, but we loved it! Sometimes she'd shake her head 'yes', but most of the time it was 'no', unless she was headbanging to Metallica, of course. Speaking of which, my sweet baby girl had the oddest taste in music. She loved rock and roll, but also had a few rap songs that lit her face up everytime they came on the radio. She also liked jingles and short, funny songs, too.

Now, on to her favorite toys! Her favorite had to have been her Disney princess ride-on/push car. It had so many buttons and levers and switches, she was never bored! It lit up and played music and the princesses moved! But none of that was her favorite thing about the toy, oh no! She loved to push it around and run into the walls! She'd keep banging it into the walls, harder and harder until Daddy or I redirected it for her. Not that she couldn't do it herself, she just wanted to see how much she could get away with. Another favorite toy of her's was a hard, plastic Cookie Monster holding a frog, about 8" tall, and when you pushed the frog it played polyphonic songs like the Sesame Street theme song, 'Jimmy Crack Corn and I Don't Care' and some other song I didn't recognize and the frog would 'Ribbit' along. For some reason she just loved that toy! I felt so bad because that was the 1 toy we wanted to put in her casket, but we didn't find it until AFTER she was buried. I think maybe Harley planned it that way so Mommy and Daddy could keep it. Thank you, Honey Bear, we'll treasure it forever.

Naked baby in the bath! How cute! <3

Harley also loved to read. She loved any and all types of books (preferably ones with lots of colorful pictures) and was such a big girl when she helped turn the pages! She had a barnyard book that she got from Papa and Nan (Pollock) that was hard cover with hard pages, too. I'd read it to her and make animal noises, but she mostly liked looking at the animals and turning the pages.

Honey Bear also LOVED car rides! Our car broke down once for quite some time and when we got it fixed Harley smiled and walked right towards it as soon as she saw it. Smart girl knew her car! She got a new carseat for her 1st birthday and got to ride forward-facing like a big girl on our trip to Sierra Vista, AZ (near the Mexico border). Harley, Dad and I were in the backseat (baby girl in the middle, of course) and Papa & Nana (Carson) and cousin Justin were in the front. She was happy as can be because she got to look out the windows and see everyone! Of course she also slept on the 3 hour drive, but while she was awake she enjoyed every minute.

One thing Honey Bear didn't like was snow. Cameron, Harley and I visited my brother Jesse, sister-in-law Rebecca and nephews David and Tyler and we all played in the snow! The school by their house had a huge pile of snow in their field so we took the kids to go play! We made snowmen (small ones) and had snowball fights and everything! There was alot of mud, though, since it WAS in a grassy field so we had to be careful. We sat Harley on the snow and she looked at it and kind of kicked it a little, but wasn't impressed. She never really liked cold things anyway (not even Popsicles! She'd make the cutest, almost disgusted face when she ate cold stuff like that) so we weren't suprised. She even cried when we tossed snowballs at her! Overall we had fun that day, though. She seemed to almost always be smiling!

Oh, and Harley LOVED toilets. Not necessarily the toilets themselves, but the pipes and hardware that came from the toilets. She would crouch down between the toilet and the bathtub and poke at and grab the pipes, just messing with them. It was the cutest thing!

Let me just finish this off (for now) by saying that Harley was the best daughter I ever could have WISHED for. She loved us so very much, unconditionally, and always put smiles on our faces. When we had the worst of days we just had to see her smiling face and give her a big hug and kiss and everything was okay. We all love you and miss you, Honey Bear. We'll see you again one day...

This website is a work in progress, so please excuse our mess!  I also would like to add to her page the lyrics for 'Angel' by Aerosmith. It was the song I wanted playing when I gave birth to her (I ended up not playing anything) and the song we played at her funeral during a picture slide show.

'Angel' by Aerosmith

I'm alone
Yeah, I don't know if I can face the night
I'm in tears and the cryin' that I do is for you
I want your love - Let's break the walls between us
Don't make it tough - I'll put away my pride
Enough's enough I've suffered and I've seen the light

CHORUS:
Baby
You're my angel
Come and save me tonight
You're my angel
Come and make it all right

Don't know what I'm gonna do
About this feeling inside
Yes it's true - Loneliness took me for a ride
Without your love - I'm nothing but a begger
Without your love - a dog without a bone
What can I do I'm sleeping in this bed alone

CHORUS

Come and save me tonight

You're the reason I live
You're the reason I die
You're the reason I give
When I break down and cry
Don't need no reason why

Baby, Baby

CHORUS

You're my angel
Come and save me tonight
you're my angel
Come and take me alright
Come and save me tonight, Come and save me tonight, Come and save me tonight,
Come and save me tonight, Come and save me tonight
