Over the past 4 years Wrong Island has stealthily been growing in respect, reputation and standing as one of Glasgow's most riotous
underground nights.
Hosted by long time pals Teamy and Dirty Larry in the basement of Glasgow's; Nice 'n Sleazy's, the night has no strict music policy
spanning disco to dubstep and beyond. Larry drops upfront urban sounds then spins long forgotten pop nuggets while Teamy spans the
range from rave classics to bollywood disco gems. The result is a sure fire formula that’s been known to provoke spontaneous nudity,
impromptu stage invasions and the occasional interpretive dance-off.
Nurtured by a city with a fierce reputation for musical open-mindedness the Wrong Island experience is defined by good old fashioned
fun and a complete disregard for generic boundaries.
The roll call of previous guests include Ramadanman, Den Haan, The Micronauts' George Issakidis, Dissident's Andy Blake, Supersouls'
Xaver Von Treyer, New York's Prince Language and DFA’s Shit Robot. The vibe is a family affair. Teamy is the Glaswegian go to guy
hosting regular after gig parties in the city for acts including LCD Soundsystem, who recently returned the favour by inviting him to
DJ at their last ever gig's after party in NYC. Not to be outshone, Larry recently made his DJ debut for the much-loved Numbers night,
appearing on the same bill as Hessle Audio's Blawan.
Exalted as party starters, favourites of Andy Blake, James Murphy (LCD Soundsystem) and the influential Numbers and LuckyMe crews
(for whom they have just compiled a new mix, see below), Wrong Island want to spread their wings and bring the infamous Glasgow
party experience to a venue near you.
