B&B Italia: Outdoor Collection

B&B Italia was founded in 1966 by the enterprising and charismatic Piero Ambrogio Busnelli. The company quickly became an international reference point for upholstered furnishings thanks to brilliant new technological process which introduced an industrial approach to manufacturing designer furnishings. Over a period of decades, its innovative influence spread to other sectors in home and outdoor.

B&B Italia recently launched an outdoor collection designed specifically for indoor/outdoor living. The collection has greatly expanded their outdoor seating  since the inception of Canasta by designer Patricia Urquila in 2007. Since then the collection has grown to include numerous outdoor complements to form a full range of amazing outdoor products for any home.

Open air living: surprising alcove sofas, chaise lounges for two and white multipurpose accessories

Springtime, the collection designed by Jean-Marie Massaud, Develops the theme of the “A Cabane” seat with deep eating sofas that can be shaded by a light textile or rattan cover to create privacy even in plain air. 

 

The sofas, with their rigorous linear frame, are designed in two seating depths, a chaise lounge with either a single seat on castors and adjustable headrest or a double seat placed either in parallel or face-to-face. In addition there is the option of rectangular and square tables that can be converted into vase holders. The collection comes with other accessories, such as a pouf, small tables, and an enameled steel brazier. The collection creates a consistent landscape, whose refinement is based on the use of white varnished aluminum frames, stainless tell holders and waterproof fabrics in three shades that match the fleece upholstery of padded parts. 

 

Angular lines and formal chic return with the rectangular table of the Springtime collection. Constructed in white-varnished aluminum and equipped with stainless steel supports, the table is available with either grey porcelain stoneware top which is divided into three sections or a single surfaced white stratified HPL top with a transversal pattern of milled lines.

CANASTA COLLECTION

Patricia Urquiola approached the outdoors starting from the theme of woven patterns – reviving and personalizing the concept with a traditional look in mind, but giving it a decisively contemporary look without using too much nostalgic influence. Vienna Straw, with its decorative geometric shape, was her element of inspiration. The collection is enriched by a series of tables and service elements with steel structures. 

The Canasta collection is available in sofas, chaise lounge, tables and low tables, armchairs, circular sofa, and chairs.
