Holy Land Pilgrimage

My recent holy land pilgrimage was an experience I will never forget. My husband and I toured with a company called Israel Pilgrim Experience, and I want to share some of my thoughts on the tour itself and our experiences dealing with the company. I'll also share some of my tips for if you are considering Israel tours for yourself or your family.
Israel Pilgrim Experience is an Israel-based tour company, but they have an office in Sydney, and you can call or email them to ask questions about your tour at any time. My husband and I booked ourselves onto one of their three-week Israel/Petra holy land tours. We thought it would be a good amount of time to be able to make our Catholic pilgrimage, while also enjoying some of the cultural and tourist experiences.

For a couple who had never been to Israel or the Middle East at all, we felt always felt safe and secure with Israel Pilgrim Experience. Throughout the trip, we stayed in fantastic hotels, which provided lovely buffet breakfasts to fuel our big days of touring. The tour was very comprehensive. Some would say that three weeks is too much to see one region or country, when there is so much else to see in the world. However, we felt this amount of time was barely enough to see everything! Each day was packed with new and exciting sights, and plenty of time to devote to our Christian pilgrimage.

My main tip for touring Israel with a tour company is make sure you bring the right shoes! Sturdy walking shoes are a must.
On our tour, we saw Masada, the Sea of Galilee, Capernum and much, much more. Jerusalem was definitely a highlight – what a stunning city! There was so much to do and see, but one of the most powerful moments had to be visiting the Holocaust Museum. We were able to spend a lot of time praying and reflecting upon how lucky we are.
