A fine and settled start to the weekend for many parts of the UK and Ireland thanks to high pressure sitting to the east of the country. This means winds are coming in from a warm continent so temperatures will remain in the warm or very warm category for much of the weekend for many places.
It's a fine, warm and dry start to Saturday then although there is some mist and low cloud to clear from some regions, the low cloud mainly across parts of eastern England. These areas of mist and low cloud will fairly readily clear this morning and then for just about all parts of the country it will be another mainly fine, very warm and sunny day with just some cloud bubbling up at times, perhaps enough to bring a thundery shower over the Scottish mountains later on.
Temperatures will pick up well in the sunshine with maximums for many inland regions in the range of 22°C to 26°C, but it will be slightly cooler around coasts as sea breezes develop. It will also be cooler where any low cloud lingers along North Sea coasts.
Please note however that pollen and UV levels will be high this weekend, particularly towards the south, so precautions will be necessary if you are spending any length of time outside.
A fine and warm evening for most places gives way to a dry night with clear spells and some areas of mist, fog and low cloud forming. Later in the night a few showers may break out towards the north and west and this is the first sign of the change to cooler and more unsettled conditions taking place. So although many places will see another fine and very warm day tomorrow, there will be an increasing risk of showers and thunderstorms breaking out from the southwest as we go through the day.
