Although I do believe that Bangladeshi rice is far better than its American counterpart, the quality of the product is not what causes this difference in opinion. Instead, it’s a result of how people approach food in both parts of the world.

If Congress would approve a rolling cutoff date that automatically adjusts each year, individuals could be eligible to file a registry application after being present in the United States for a set period. If the Registry Bill is passed, around 8.5 million immigrants could be eligible to apply for permanent residency. 

The simple action of coming together with friends, family and community members can make us feel less alone in fighting the climate crisis. When actions become a community effort, making changes to your own life may not feel as daunting. Thus, by encouraging your community to continue to organize advocacy events following April 22, you can help ignite long-lasting change in the world around you.

So, how do we regenerate that same passion that Earth Day sparked over 50 years ago? How do we use this day to appreciate the Earth and our place on it, against the backdrop of ever heightening global warming?  

The ocean is by far my favorite aspect of the planet that Mother Nature has made for us, and I urge you all to reflect on your favorite thing about nature this Earth Day. Immerse yourself in the beautiful world around you, as there are so many things out there in nature that we take for granted at times.
