Driving Schools and Instructors Near You in

With so many driving instructors listed on the Driving Schools Directory, you are sure to find a driving school that is local to you and that fits your training needs so that your driving lessons start off the right way. There are two types of driving instructor; an ADI and PDI.

The former is an Approved Driving Instructor by the DSA (Driving Standards Agency) and will have passed all the required tests. Theyalso have to undergo regular checks by the DSA (at least every 4 years) to ensure they continue to teach their driving lessons to the required standard.

A PDI is a Potential Driving Instructor. This is a scheme whereby the instructor has passed their DSA theory and advanced motoring tests but has yet to complete the final test which is the ability to demonstrate competence for acceptance onto the Approved Driving Instructor (Car) Register. Normally, this must be completed within 6 months of acceptance onto the DSA Scheme.

You can tell the difference between the 2 types of driving instructors by the licence or 'badge' they display on their car windscreen. An ADI will have a green octagonal licence whereas, a PDI will have a triangular pink licence.
