I have a Wosp on my V8 and it performs well, spinning the engine over about twice as fast as the original. I've no idea about it's water resistance!

Here is the table I mentioned before

Thanks Mike & Trev for reminding me that it was 038, not 138.

063 is a different size and shape, however. It used to be a popular fitment to MGBs when converting from 2x 6v batteries, although it was a bit of a tight fit in the battery box. The Varta B36 being a much better fit for the MGB (not Midget).

My Varta is 10 years old, although it has only been in the car for six. It ...

I have The Automobile magazine, for pre 1960 cars, on Subscription. I get Mascot as a Masc member but as probably its most prolific contributor I no longer contribute to it.
I also have Classic Ford but am considering cancelling my subscription to it.

Great stuff! I seem to recall paying £45/50 odd for a Bosch battery for the Frogeye 4 or so years ago, £54 is very reasonable

Ordered that Enduroline one at 54 + delivery, so 62. Not bad for a 4 year guarantee one.

From recollection, when Tanya batteries arrive they have a 10% off your next purchase voucher. But with infrequent purchases the voucher goes missing long before the next order! I guess their marketing is largely based around that eventuality. You get the feeling good factor without actually benefitting...

I need a new starter motor for a 73 BGT. The options seem to be:

Rebuild/exchange the standard one. Prices vary from 75 to 150.

Fit a replacement new outright one for sub 70 had one of those, it lasted 13 months, I will pass on that.

Fit a WOSP or Powerlite hi torque one about 250. I think they are both geared.

MGOC have a geared one for 225 looks like a...

I have found some neoprene ones - the joys of using the correct search term they are not silicone after all. They are part number AAA1323X, quite a few suppliers stock them.

I see Moss do some spacers - for the same price as a spring give or take....

I think I may try the 9 coil springs as I am on 7.5 ones at the moment
