British Garden Birds is dedicated to helping garden birdwatchers to identify and enjoy the birds that visit their gardens, and to understand the birds' lives and behaviour.

This Month...

Although most migrant bird species have arrived by now, the Garden Warblers, Swifts and Spotted Flycatchers are usually the last to arrive. Goldfinches will start nest building this month. Meanwhile, Blackbirds, Song Thrushes and Mistle Thrushes are in full song.

Things to do...

International Dawn Chorus Day, 5th May 2019, is a worldwide event that celebrates bird song, but the whole of May is a great time to listen to the chorus. Join in by getting up early and listen to the birds in your garden or go to a local event. Find out more.
