We support Bristol Children's Hospital to save lives & support sick children

Story

This is the ApelElain fundraising page for Wallace and Gromit's Grand Appeal.

Elain James was antenatally diagnosed with Congenital Heart Disease. Following a short period of stability at home Elain's condition suddenly deteriorated in June 2010 and before we knew it Elain was undergoing her first heart surgery at Bristol Royal Hospital for Children. Complications following surgery meant that Elain was a patient on the Paediatric Intensive Care Unit for just over 10 weeks.

The staff on PICU at Bristol Children's Hospital are second to none. Their dedication, attention to detail and professionalism saved our baby daughter's life on several occassions.

For now Elain is home and stable but will need more surgery in the near future. We therefore know it won't be long before we will be visiting the ward again.

The money raised for the Wallace and Gromit's Grand Appeal through ApelElain will be going directly to the Paediatric Intensive Care Unit at Bristol Royal Hospital for Children. This will help continue to support areas within the Unit where central funding often falls short.

Please give all you can to help support this amazing ward.

Many Many Thanks

Bridget, Gareth + Elain James
