Underground dance in Tehran

Following last year's disputed presidential election in Iran, two men accused of participating in protests were recently hanged. Nine more dissidents are threatened with execution.

Yet the opposition movement seems undeterred with plans for a big rally in February 2010, to mark the anniversary of the 1979 Islamic Revolution.

Afshin Ghaffarian has another way of protesting against the regime; his weapon is dance.

Dancing in Iran is forbidden under strict Islamic laws and punishable by long prison sentences.

Despite this, Afshin set up his own underground dance company in Tehran, even staging a secret performance out in the desert to a select audience.

Lucy Ash talked to Afshin about why he decided to pursue this potentially dangerous profession.
