Man jailed for causing death by careless driving while over the prescribed drug limit

A man has been jailed for four years and three months for causing death by careless driving while over the prescribed drug limit, and causing death by driving whilst uninsured, following the death of Irslaan Nowkhaiz in September 2021.

Man charged with manslaughter following death of Kiena Dawes

On 22nd July 2022, Kiena was sadly found deceased by our British Transport Police colleagues on the line near Barnacre.

Following consultation with the Crown Prosecution Service, we have charged Ryan Wellings, 30, with Manslaughter, Controlling and Coercive Behaviour and Assault occasioning Actual Bodily Harm.

Blackburn man given 14-year sentence after sexually assaulting young woman

Judge Philip Parry deemed Kamran Rashid to be dangerous and gave him a sentence totalling 14 years. This was made up of nine years and nine months immediate custody followed by four years and three months on an extended licence.
