Arran Mountain Festival | 17-20 May 2024

Scotland's premier hillwalking and mountaineering festival

An opportunity to meet like-minded people, discover a fascinating island and have unforgettable days in the safe hands of experienced local leaders. With names to inspire, like Ceum na Caillich and Caisteal Abhail, Arran's mountains are amongst Scotland’s most amazing landscapes.

2024 Arran Mountain Festival Programme

SMALL GROUPS ~ BIG WALKS ~ HUGE FUN!

Ever wondered what happens with your walk fees? All income generated by Arran Mountain Festival walks, runs and social events goes solely towards the cost of putting on the festival and associated expenses.

We do try to keep the prices of our walks as low as we can so that as many people as possible can take part. Even though our walk leaders generously provide their services free of charge to the festival, the prices we charge do not cover the full costs of providing insurance, transport and a booking admin system.

We make up the balance through the very generous sponsorship of many Arran businesses, our social events and the Friends scheme. The Festival aims to break even financially and we have been able to achieve this consistently without the need for external grant funding, apart from a recent donation from the Arran Trust to pay for local walk leaders to be trained and certified to lead the technical A’Chir route.

In January 2023 Arran Mountain Festival became a Scottish Charitable Incorporated Organisation registered with the Scottish Charity Regulator. Our formal name is Arran Mountain Festival SCIO and our Charity number is SC 052229.
