Turning drier but staying overcast on the mainland tonight. A cloudy night for Orkney with a chance of the odd shower. Clear skies at first in Shetland, but a few areas of cloud moving in later.

After a dry and cloudy start tomorrow, the mainland will se spells of heavy rain roll in from the North Sea. Cloudy with some showers in Orkney. Dry and sunny in Shetland but clouding over later.
Outlook for Thursday to Saturday
Heavy rain and downpours will persist over the mainland and Isles on Thursday with gusty winds. Low cloud on the Isles early Friday will soon lift leaving mainly sunny conditions. Cloudy with the odd spot of rain for the mainland. Saturday will be dry with plenty of sunshine for both the mainland and the Isles
