Under the Localism Act neighbourhood forums are community groups that are designated to take forward neighbourhood planning in areas without parish councils.
The DNF has been recognised by SHBC as the forum for the Deepcut Area, this is especially important on account of the PRB (Mindenhurst) development, see the
Mindenhurst Development( above).

14/05/2024 - Mytchett, Frimley Green & Deepcut Society AGM
The AGM was held on the Monday 10th May at St. Andrews Church Hall. This years AGM was very well attended with about 70 people in attendance.
The AGM featured a talk by Nigel Foster, Senior Responsible Officer for replacing Frimley Park Hospital. He first went through why the hospital needs to be replaced and
why it has to be on a new site. There is not enough space at the current site and the hospital needs to be built by 2030. On the current site it would take longer and be
more expensive. Nigel Foster said that the the hospital would be one of the new 2.0 versions, taking best practises from the UK, Europe and the rest of the world.
There followed a lengthy question and answer period with Nigel Foster. For more information see the
New Frimley Park Hospital for more details.
Due to the length of time taken on the talk, the tea break was taken.
This was followed by the Chair, Clare Kennedy doing a rundown on what the Society has done over the past year. This included amongst other things, the work on the Green in Frimley Green,
planting trees and wildfowers, commenting on the Hatches Railway Crossing replacement and perusing all local planning applications.
The Society treasurer, Carol Drew did a quick synopsis of the annual accounts. After this the Committee Members were re-elected by what appeared to be a unanimous vote.
Following this, Sergeant Roxy Huson gave a comprehensive report on policing in the local area.
After this there was the usual lively Q&A session with the our MP Michael Gove, local Councillors, Morgan Rise, David Whitcroft, Jacques Olmo and Police Sergeant Roxy Hudson
Before the meeting closed there was the usual raffle.

23/02/2024 - Hatches Level Crossing to have Miniature Stop Lights
Network Rail have decided that rather than build a footbridge at Spencer Close they will update the Hatches Level Crossing with Miniature Stop Lights.
See the Email sent out by by Network Rail, in it they acknowledge both local
opposition to the footbridge option and the business justification. Is the associated cost of constructing the footbridge the best spend of taxpayer’s money
to provide mitigation (see paragraph 3 of the Email).
