Scattered showers and thunder Tuesday with sunshine taking hold mid-week

We’ve started out dry this morning as temperatures have been mostly in the 40s and 50s, which is mostly on par with where we should be starting out a late May morning. As an upper trough pivots the Upper Midwest, however, shower chances make their return later this morning with scattered showers and storms lasting through the afternoon. It will also usher in an unseasonably cool air mass, leaving us to only top out in the mid 60s which falls about 10 degrees below average. Winds will be breezy out of the northwest, essentially making today an indoor sort of day, however the next few days look to be more conducive to outdoor plans.
