DUTCH fashion retailer The Sting has confirmed it will open its first UK branch, in the iconic Tower Records store on the corner of London's Regent Street and Piccadilly Circus.

The store has been vacant since entertainment chain Zavvi fell in to administration in December. The site boasts a massive 33,875 sq ft of retail space across three floors and a mezzanine and has direct basement access from Piccadilly Circus Underground station.

The Sting has more than 75 stores in the Netherlands selling high street clothing and accessories - and has recently expanded into Germany and Belgium. The Regent Street store is set to open next spring.

"We believe this unique location - the only one that we are selecting in London - is a perfect fit for showcasing our international fashion brand," The Sting's founder Herman Franzen told Drapers Online. "We are excited about the opportunity."
