With just under a week to go until the release of Club Smith‘s debut single ‘No Friend of Mine/Young Defeatists‘, here is a list of all the cool record shops you’ll be able to buy the 7″ from. Independent Record Shops are truly fantastic places that deserve all (and more) the trade they receive. So while we’d love it if you decided to buy the Club Smith record,  I can highly recommend these shops are cool places to discover new and old music alike!

Club Smith have recently released the video for their debut single ‘No Friend of Mine‘. The video is filmed from the point of view of a boxing opponent, with lead singer Sam Robson providing some serious, and very entertaining, punches!

The release of the video comes off the back of a successful Live at Leeds performance by the band, packing out the Faversham with a fantastic crowd!

Well Club Smith are currently on tour with The Pigeon Detectives, and, after personally seeing them perform in Birmingham, it really is going spiffingly. Last night saw them as the main support, and the fantastic folks at the Blue Walrus headed down to see the band perform. You can find the hugely positive review here:

Club Smith get a fantastic mention in the York Press!

Club Smith get a mention in the Scarborough Evening News!

Must add that the words attributed to me as a ‘promoter’ actually come from the band’s press release by Impressive PR.

We can officially announce today that we will be releasing Club Smith‘s AA side single ‘No Friend of Mine‘ and ‘Young Defeatists‘! The release date is scheduled for the 6th June and it will be released on a strictly limited edition run of 7″ vinyls, and download from all good digital outlets. However for the mean time you can pre-order the 7″ over at Rough Trade!

We have some really exciting plans for the release, including a video for ‘No Friend of Mine‘ that I can guarantee will get people talking!

With exciting news to come in the following months (we’re all very hard at work at the moment!), I thought I should let you all know that Club Smith will be supporting the fantastic iLikeTrains at the Duchess in York on the 11th February! Make sure to make it down as it will be  a fantastic gig, and Club Smith‘s first of 2011!

Also, I will be making an appearance on Leeds Student Radio this Sunday between 1-3pm as a guest to talk about Front Wall Records and Club Smith, so please tune in as the show itself is massively funny too. For example, they have a feature called ‘Ham or Hamas‘ .. !
