On Thursday, May 16th the HCHC community gathered at the Maliotis Cultural Center for a reception honoring the fifth anniversary of His Eminence Archbishop Elpidophoros of America’s election as Archbishop. Present were Metropolitan Gerasimos of San Francisco, Bishop Joachim of Amissos, Bishop Theophan of Philomelion, Bishop Anthony of Synada, the President HCHC, Dr. Demetrios Katos, the Dean of Holy Cross, Fr. Eugen Pentiuc, faculty, staff, students and their families.
Dr. Katos offered words of congratulations on behalf of the HCHC community while also highlighting the herculean accomplishments of His Eminence in his short tenure. In response, Archbishop Elpidophoros praised God and offered words of wisdom concerning the meaning of the Church and ministry on a variety of levels. At the end of the Archbishop’s remarks, the entire body of faculty, staff, and students chanted the Archbishop’s Pheme.
The HCHC community once again wishes His Eminence many years on the occasion of the fifth anniversary of his election. Εις πολλά έτη, Δέσποτα!
