Story

**Some massive Support is being given from Loch Associates based in Tunbridge wells- so a massive thank you to them, they will be sponsoring London Wildcare on this event and many others, they will be getting t shirts made up for me and plenty of publicity on there website along with local press** Its amazing what people are able to give to charities like London Wildcare and is admirable. Big Thank you to Loch Associates.**

I will be walking a 60km (37.28mile) walk through West Sussex starting at 8am with an expected finish time of anywhere up to and beyond 1am the next morning!! To walk this distance is undoubtedly a huge achievement.

Thank you very much indeed for donating to my Appeal. Your donation will help us to carry on providing the lifesaving emergency care that our wildlife relies upon in times of crisis. As a small charity we never lose sight of the most important things in our world. As you'd expect, the animals come first but our wonderful and dedicated supporters are a very close second

London Wildcare Hospital is one of the largest and busiest professional wildlife facilities in the UK. It costs in excess of £180,000 a year to keep this hospital going and to look after sick and injured animals. The charity relies heavily on a dedicated team of Volunteers, myself being one of them.

Based in Beddington Park the hospital runs 24/7 service, rescuing, treating and supporting the

recovery of wildlife.

"The charity is ineligable for Government or lottery support and we rely heavily on the generosity of the public"

This centre runs every day of the year and the team are dedicated to working at the centre there is no time that the centre is closed and no time that we dont have to give.

Volunteering at the Wildlife centre is one of my 3 jobs that i have and i love every minute of it.

Your donations will help the upkeep of the Wildlife centre and most importantly help to fund the food and medication these animals need to be released back into the wild.

NO animal at the centre is a lost cause every animal that sees our centre is given the chance to live a very happy life be it back in the wild or being looked after at the centre as a permanent resident.

Here are some storys of animals that have been into the centre:

"Another fox in last night with a truly awful head wound...an area opened up between his ears the same circumferance as a tennis ball, infected, matted and smelly. Looked like an immediate pts but we tested a few responses and gave him a go.

Had to hang him upside down and use a surgical pressure washer with warm saline... to clean the wound and then give him a drip, antibiotics, special wound gel and various other jabs too. Now on my way back into treatment room to do his first 24 hour check up and set another i/v line running. He has a less than 50/50 chance but fingers firmly crossed...he's certainly done better than expected on his first night. He's called Al, as in Al Pacino and Scarface...if he makes it, he's not gonna look so cute!"

"We are currently nursing a swan whose wing was broken at the elbow joint after being stoned by youths during half term week. Today, I took the swan to our specialist avian vet at Sevenoaks, where the wing was amputated...such was the severity of the fracture that the bird would never fly again. The attack took place at... Battersea Reach, on the Thames but this sort of thing can happen anywhere and is a crime so please report anything like it in our area to us asap.  Aside from anything else, after today I've got a large vets bill to settle so all help much appreciated."

"Got called out at 4am this morning to a fox cub in Elspeth Street, Battersea. Hit by a car and wrapped in a blanket by a kind man who then had to drive home to West Norwood to call us. Sadly its back right leg wash literally smashed to pieces and large amounts of its intestines were hanging out, meaning I had to euthan...ase it on scene. We did, however, bring in a fox cub caught in a squirrel trap and another from DHL in Vauxhall who had been badly tangled in wire during the day. Add a deer with a broken leg in sanderstead that outran us and several birds, both from the public and wildlife lodge, and you'll appreciate why we are launching our spring appeal!! We need your financial support to keep all this work going....please help in any way you can. Thank You...."
