THE RISK & SECURITY MANAGEMENT FORUM

THE RISK & SECURITY MANAGEMENT FORUM (RSMF)

The Forum is a select, trusted network of risk and security professionals who regularly meet to share insights on current issues, threats, and risks. Our meetings facilitate skills growth and proactive planning for the future, enhancing members effectiveness in their role.

WHO WE ARE

We currently have around 40 members representing diverse sectors such as corporate business, academia, government, law enforcement and the armed services. Each member is personally invited to join, ensuring a close-knit, trusted community where confidential discussions and information exchange become central to our value proposition.

HOW WE ADD VALUE

We employ a push/pull strategy, disseminating information to our members and facilitating connections with professionals within and beyond the Forum so members can access valuable advice and guidance. We have a significant impact, offering unique access to information and experts. Operating under the Chatham House rule, we are able to secure senior and specialist speakers.

A KNOWLEDGE BASE

In-person meetings produce the most benefit; we hold four each year, three 1-day seminars, usually in London, and one seminar held overnight in South East England. Additionally, we hold virtual 'pop-ups' on urgent and time-sensitive issues such as the Ukraine invasion and COVID-19.

Our speakers are all acknowledged Subject Matter Experts in their field – generally external speakers, but we also take advantage of the considerable experience of our members.

A TRUSTED NETWORK WITH PRIVILEGED ACCESS TO EXPERTISE

“I have found the Forum invaluable in providing a rich environment for topical, insightful and thought-provoking debate to help shape my Corporate Security risk management strategy for my organisation”

COLLABORATION

The RSMF is a trusted network driven by a 'for the members, by the members' philosophy.

Our members work together at events and virtually, confident that all our business is conducted in confidence – this is critical for the quality and value we offer our members.

We also offer the opportunity for our external speakers to speak freely within a trusted space utilising the Chatham House rule.

PARTNERSHIP

Our members have extensive domestic and international professional networks, making it easy for them to seek guidance and support from fellow members.

Recent seminar topics cover a range of relevant subjects, including:

  • Insider tisk
  • The Ukrainian conflict
  • The Ministry of Defence's perspective on global threats

ENGAGEMENT

Our members actively contribute to the Forum as speakers or as Council members.

Our members work together at our events, or indeed at any time, confident that all our business is conducted in confidence – this is critical for the quality and value we offer our members.

It also allows our external speakers to be slightly more open than they otherwise might have been.

“The Forum provides access to a trusted network of highly experienced, senior members of the risk and security community to understand and manage current and emerging threats to business.”

DAN HOOTON, CHAIRMAN RSMF
