The trip out was smooth sailing and after a... read more spot of wild swimming in the Loch we returned in the capable hands of James and Helen with a shortbread and a coffee (hot chocolate for the kids!). The kids also got a shot steering the ship which was very nice of the crew, which our son really liked! One suggestion is to turn up early, as parking can be hard if you arrive at peak timings. The trip is absolutely worth its time and money, you can see the seals, fish , waterfall. Its so brilliant. I loved it so much that i had to go back. The boating crew also welcomes you back with a hot drink and biscuits. Very friendly people.

  The interaction with the skipper and his crew was great! Very nice folks, shared a lot of information with us with great enthusiasm!

  We were a little hesitant as the sea looked rough! However, we had an amazing trip from Elgol to Loch Coruisk last week. The seals were bathing on the rocks as we neared the mooring point which was a highlight. We were allocated 30 minutes to walk around the loch (we chose the short trip) which is plenty of time but we chose to linger by the River and enjoy the solitude. Back on board we were offered tea, coffee or hot chocolate and of course - shortbread before making the short journey back to Elgol. This trip is an absolute must made extra special by the Misty Isles "crew" both on sea and land. Our trip lasted about an hour and a half at a cost of £25. Money well spent for a very enjoyable day in Elgol. Thank you everyone at Misty Isle Boat Trips. Visit the shop at the top of the hill too for coffee, cake, gifts and warm hospitality.

We chose to hunt down the beaches, after viewing the loch, and found a tiny peace of heaven where we swam alone in crystal waters. As Sandy (the Skipper) told us on the boat, the silence was indeed deafening. It was an incredibly peaceful place. On the return trip, a cuppa and shortbread finger were a welcome treat!

We saw 2 schools of seals,sunning them selves on the rocks.

Parking was very tight at the boat launch, so best to arrive early. The drive each direction was single track, and stressful for us, being new to Scotland. But the drive was beautiful also. We would definitely do this activity again.

We lucked out and had a gorgeous sunny day! Once at the loch you are on your own. We hiked around for some amazing views and photos. We brought some snacks and drinks and had a small picnic before hiking back. You have about 90minutes here and on this gorgeous day we could have used more. It was breathtaking and no photos can really do it justice. If you have time while in the area, please make this one of your stops. Misty Isle boat was a wonderful last day for us.

As is always true with Isle of Skye, the views were stunning. Loch Coruisk is breathtaking, and we highly recommend taking the longer trip. We were the only ones who did and had the 3 hour walk around the loch to ourselves to experience.
