Bowls England Certificate of Merit

Bowls Hampshire are delighted that at the Bowls England Awards dinner this evening, Kay Kerley, Bowls Hampshire Vice Chair was awarded the "Certificate of Merit" for her outstanding contribution and service to her club, our County and Bowls England an honour long overdue

As well as her extensive work for her club Oakley, she was always available and keen to help coach new bowlers who joined Oakley. Within Hampshire Kay has served the committee for many years, she was the Ladies President in 1990, she was also the Secretary of HCWBA prior to unification. When Bowls Hampshire was inaugurated Kay took on the role of Vice Chair

Following an extremely successful playing career where she represented the County for 26 years at the highest level, during which time she was a member of the winning John's team in 2008 and 2011, she took on the role of the John's and Walker Manager and after 8 years at the helm stepped down at the end of last season

Kay was the first Hampshire player in over 50 years when in 2004 she became the EWBA President. She was also an England international selector for the South, looking to ensure new and upcoming talent was highlighted for possible international success
