So What is Adblue?

What is Its?
AdBlue is the trade name for a type of Diesel Exhaust Fluid. AdBlue products are compliant with the latest emissions standard regulations referred to as Euro 6.
What is Euro 6
Euro 6 became law in the year 2016 and it presented challenge for diesel vehicle manufacturers because they were legally bound to source a product or method that would reduce harmful emissions into the atmosphere and therefore, help save our environment. Fortunately, new ways to minimise nitrogen-oxide emissions through the manufacture of AdBlue products were discovered.
What is in AdBlue?
AdBlue is a mix of urea and deionized water that is stored in a separate tank from the vehicle’s fuel. When the vehicle is running, small amounts of the AdBlue mixture is sprayed into the exhaust system of diesel engines and converts the exhaust gas produced into nitrogen and water. Therefore, reducing the nitrous oxide emissions into the atmosphere.

All diesel vehicles with engines that are compliant with Euro 6 standards will use AdBlue and their vehicle’s AdBlue gauge alerts when a “top up” is required!
Do I need AdBlue?
If you run out of AdBlue while you are driving, the engine’s power and performance is reduced to limit its emissions and if you stop the vehicle, the engine won’t be able to restart if the AdBlue tank is empty.
