Still think the show the best for steam and associated interests.A very good mix of every day bygone life for the children of the future to see how we lived and without TV@s computers, Washing machines etc etc. Keep it up, I only hope that I may live long enought to see the 40th and beyond events providing the dreaded H & S E dont get there ore in, It is so much freer on the continent, they do not take any notice of the rules. Long may you continue.

Your photo album is very good but does not encompass the whole experience of the GDSF, which includes a vast range of vintage commercial vehicles, including heavy haulage Scammels, Diamond T's etc., a range of historic Vintage Caravans and cars, Tractor Pulling, Tractor and heavy horse ploughing displays and a wonderful display of a mail coach and horses, not to mention the many and varied craft exhibits and modern and old time fair rides.

joanna
i went to the great dorset steam fair and i thought it was absolutely brilliant, and this year was definately the best so far. I recommend it to anyone who hasn't been before. Go early and stay till night, that way you see everything and your ticket is worth the money!

i am the boy in picture 5 with my half size allchin made in 1970 by severn lamb engineering. there were only two ever made but this is the last one steaming. the other one lays derelict in london. the chap i used to rally with sadly died this year and sadly didnt make dorset. his name was colin hill and was a widely known personality in the steam world. i continue to rally the 'pride of pewsey' with my father and colins son martin.

John Phillips ( Myfanwy )
