Officers had responded about 9:30 p.m. Monday to a report of gunfire near the Anchorage Senior Activity Center in the Fairview neighborhood.

Timothy Hoffman, 58, lost control of his motorcycle on the Parks Highway, troopers said. His wife was also on the motorcycle and was in critical condition.

It’s a rare office-to-residence conversion, a municipal official said.
