SocialShake will send incoming email that is received at your SocialShake email account, to any of your current email accounts that you specify within the email section of SocialShake.com. Once you receive an email, SocialShake is setup to handle replies. If you want to reply back to the sender of an email simply click reply within your webmail client; type your message; and click “send” or “submit”. Even though the reply address of the email is your SocialShake account, SocialShake will send the reply email back to the original sender. This reduces copying the email and pasting into a new one to send. By default SocialShake will “reply to everyone” that the email is addressed to including the CC email addresses. If you only want to reply only to the original email sender, simply log into www.socialshake.com click on the email link to go to the email section. Select the radio button for “reply to sender only” and click “save changes”. This will update your settings and it is not required for every email.

SocialShake.com email eliminates ALL spam
August 25, 2008SocialShake.com now eliminates all spam, and screens incoming email based on how you know the sender and directs incoming mail to your appropriate inbox. The following steps shows how to eliminate all spam. This example shows how to setup your SocialShake email and networks, and how it is used to eliminate ALL spam.
1. Log into http://www.socialshake.com and go to the privacy section.
2. Create your networks that you will want to receive email from; i.e. work, and family.
3. Allow into your networks all your contacts by creating a filter of how you know everyone.
The below screenshot shows how to add all your business contacts that you work with or used to work with at IBM. All of these contacts will now be within your work network. Repeat this step to add additional business contacts.
The next screenshot shows how to add all your family members with the last name “Adams” that live in Germantown, Maryland into your family network.
4. Next, go to the email section. Add all of your current email addresses where SocialShake will deliver your email.
5. Finally, for every email in your forward email list, specify which networks you want to receive email from at that address. Below shows the family@yahoo.com email address selected and within the “Receive From” list the family network is selected.
This completes the setup of your email to eliminate all spam! Of course you can expand your networks by creating more allow filters or simply create more networks. Once you receive an email, SocialShake will look at how you know the sender and determine which network they are associated with and send the incoming email to the appropriate address.
In the event where the sender is not within any of your networks but their email is legit and not spam the sender will simply receive a courtesy email. The courtesy email informs the sender that the recipient really wants to receive an email from them and what they need to do in order for them to send an email. Alternatively you can add a junk email to the forward section; in the receive from section select “Everyone” then select the exclude checkbox; within the exclude list add all the networks that you are currently receiving email from. This will send everyone’s email that is not in your networks to this email address until you add them to a network.

“We’re sorry but you are not within any of ben’s networks. ben really wants to receive an email from you but please follow the below steps so you can start emailing.Please sign onto http://www.socialshake.com and request access to their network.
Having trouble? Please review the following causes:
- Are you already a SocialShake.com user?
- Did you register that you own this email address sender@live.com on SocialShake.com under your Contact Information?
- Did you request access to their network?
- Add contact entries on how you know mike under your contact section within your profile.
Still having trouble? This means that either you have not been approved yet to join their network or you have not been placed into their network to receive email.

Google GrandCentral is to phones as SocialShake.com is to email
August 6, 2008Both Google GrandCentral and SocialShake.com are very unique and similar in nature to one another however they are both two completely different communication tools. GrandCentral is for phones and SocialShake is for email. Please note they are both unaffiliated with each other.
GrandCentral gives you ‘One Number…for Life’, a phone number that instead of being tied to a device or a location, is tied to you. You can use GrandCentral to centralize your communication, customize your callers’ experience, and make sure you never miss a call you want to take.

SocialShake gives you ‘One Email…for Life’, an email that is also not tied to a specific provider like yahoo, gmail, or even your employer. Similarities:

Perfecting the next email
August 1, 2008Today we are faced with many problems associated with using email. Tons of users’ mailboxes are constantly overflowing with mail. Email needs to be addressed to solve many issues that we are faced. SocialShake.com has been working on many issues involving email, and they have perfected the next email!
Majority of the issues revolve around the volume of email that is received and therein lays the problem. Also, all email is treated equal with only one destination, our inbox. With being inundated with email, it’s very difficult and tiresome to manage our inbox effectively especially with sorting between newsletter’s, spam, and relevant email. Many of us have gone to the extreme of even declaring “email bankruptcy” where we delete our entire inbox and start over. Most notable individuals to declare email bankruptcy are Fred Wilson, Jeff Nolan, Lawrence Lessig, and Michael Arrington.
SocialShake.com’s email service addresses many of these issues and has a very unique solution to use email.
The first is by associating the relationship of how we know senders of an email. This is the “Social Graph”. This relationship might be through work, an organization, military, school, where one lives, a phone or cell phone number, or even through the internet (email, instant message, or social networks).
Next is to group how we know potential senders into networks (groups of people). An example network can be “work”. Then you want to assign your Social Graph to this network. An example on how this can be accomplished is by creating a work filter where you specify the company name and point it to your work network. This now allows us to classify senders and any incoming email to your SocialShake email account will be from your work and any other networks you assign.
The final step is to filter your email based on your networks. This is accomplished by taking the same principles behind the way Google GrandCentral works. Instead of having one phone number that rings all of your phone numbers, is to have one email that forwards to all your emails. All you need to do is add an email address where you want SocialShake to forward an email to. While adding an email address you specify which networks can send an email to you. If the sender is not in your network by the way you know them through your Social Graph, SocialShake will then look at your other email addresses and checks with those networks. If SocialShake cannot find an email address to forward to, the sender simply receives a courtesy email informing them that they aren’t within your Social Graph with alternatives on how they can email you.
Now we finally have an email that will group senders on how we know them through your Social Graph, prioritize email and direct email to the appropriate email address such as our work, personal or any other email which will reduce and eliminate spam. Plus with SocialShake it will be the last email address you will need to be known by!

July 31, 2008SocialShake is a new Social Network to keep everyone’s life connected. To completely understand how our service was started you first need to know our story. Here at SocialShake we believe throughout our lives everyone goes through several life changing events. These life events might be going to college, joining the military reserves, living in our first apartment, beginning a professional career and advancing within our career, plus many others. As we live and experience our life events we leave a footprint. Also we have footprints online especially with more and more people coming online. The online footprints can be email addresses, instant message accounts, and social networks that we use. These footprints are our relationships with the people we knew during that time. Over time we tend to stay in touch with everyone but eventually one may lose contact. That’s where we come in.
We believe our lives and relationships are complex but staying in touch with everyone we know should not be difficult. Regardless where we lived, went to school, worked, or even what technology that we’ve used in the past, we want to keep everyone connected through life’s journey. That is why we leave footprints of our life. These footprints are that extra piece of information that we associate with someone outside of just their name.
