F&G's Southwest Region sponsoring three big Free Fishing Day events on June 8

Free Fishing Day is this Saturday, June 8. Fish and Game staff and reservists are sponsoring three large events throughout the Southwest Region, and providing everything you need for a fun day of fishing – including rods, reels and bait.

F&G officer dispatches black bear near large public event in Riggins

On the evening of June 1, an Idaho Fish and Game conservation officer killed a black bear near the Riggins City Park during a large public gathering, after attempts to haze the bear out of the area were unsuccessful.

Teton County residents reminded to properly store attractants to reduce human-bear conflicts

Fish and Game staff have recently received multiple reports of a sow black bear with three yearlings getting into unsecured garbages in and around Driggs. For the safety of both the community and the bears, Fish and Game is asking residents to properly store their garbage and other attractants by making them inaccessible.

Fish and Game to host Free Fishing Day activities at Riley Pond in Hagerman on June 8

Idaho Fish and Game, Magic Valley Region will be hosting a Free Fishing Day event on Saturday, June 8, at Riley Pond in Hagerman. Riley Pond is located on the Hagerman Wildlife Management Area near the Hagerman State Fish Hatchery.

F&G confirms the first Grizzly Bear sighting west of I-15 in the Upper Snake Region

Trail camera footage provided to Fish and Game staff confirms the presence of a grizzly bear west of Interstate 15 in Game Management Unit (GMU) 59. The bear was photographed by a trail camera on May 31, and was clearly identified as a grizzly bear.
