Classical Recordings Quarterly

Editors: Alan Sanders (Nos. 1-8; 53-80) and Tully Potter (Nos. 9-52) ©

20 years, 80 issues, a host of knowledgeable writers and contributors and more than 8,000 pages of expert writing covering the entire history of the Classical Recording Industry.

The closure of CRQ after the Spring 2015 issue marked the end of this remarkable project but we are now able to offer the entire 80-issue collection of ICRC, CRC and CRQ for purchase.

NB this single PDF is very large at 76Mb

This document contains all the front cover and contents pages for each quarterly issue of this magazine under its three successive titles, from its inception in 1995 to its last issue in 2015 – a total of 80 issues. Thus you can see at a glance details of all the feature articles, reviews and all else that was contained in this unique publication: an extraordinary range of information covering the entire history of the classical recording industry. The material includes portraits of performing artists and their recordings, biographies of other celebrities who contributed to the development of the industry over the course of more than a century, discussions of how technical advances came about, histories of the rise – and sometimes the fall – of great recording companies and famous label series, reviews of landmark recordings in all formats and much else.

All these 80 issues are available as a collection on a single USB Memory Stick which can be used by all PCs and Apple computers fitted with USB port. The price of the complete set is £55. Single issues can be purchased in the form of a downloadable PDF document at a cost of £3 each.

From issue 44 onwards the magazines are in ‘true PDF’ format; issues 1 to 43 exist as scans from original magazine copies and thus do not quite match the definition of the later issues, though clarity of the copying process has been the aim and the achievement.
