What’s up?

Dear PopTech Friends and Family,

The journey begins! We are excited to lift the curtain on PopTech 2024: Uncharted Territory.

Check out our first speaker announcement and the conference visual identity, co-created by our colleagues at the Ghost Note Agency and Midjourney AI. As we venture into uncharted territory, we’re questioning, learning, and experimenting, fostering a vibrant community of curiosity seekers along the way.

What’s in Store?

Catalytic talks, spirited debates, and immersive experiences exploring the next frontiers of AI, Bitcoin, whistleblowing, and much more. Does polling have relevance? Will access to psychedelics transform human potential? Is election anxiety a real phenomenon? Is abundance a blessing or a curse? Are we on the cusp of a new world order? If so, how do we envision the shifts and their impacts?

Intrigued?

Join us live from October 810, 2024, at The REACH at the Kennedy Center in Washington, DC. Additional speaker announcements and program details will be released in the coming weeks. The Midpoint Registration rate of $1250 is available until June 15, 2024.

Board Welcome

We are honored to introduce two new members to the PopTech board of directors: Reggie Snowden and Steve Jumper. They hail from the Ghost Note Agency, PopTech’s creative agency of record since 2018. They are extraordinary collaborators, trusted strategic partners, and the creative genius behind our visual identity. We could not wish for a better alignment regarding shared values and mission. Please join us in extending a warm welcome to Reggie and Steve.

Really?

We generally reserve this space for short form guest posts, but occasionally, a longer essay catches our eye. This month, with permission from Dan Ariely, we are featuring his recent post, In Defense of Mistakes.

We invite YOU to submit posts that capture the astonishing, surprising, engaging, and entertaining. Just complete the REALLY? submission form.

Worth a Watch

Humanizing the Other, a PopTech 2017 conversation between Tim Phillips, Ebrahim Rasool, and Roelf Meyer, illuminates the importance of brokering peace and reconciliation in areas ravaged by war, oppression, trauma, and discord.

The Face of Power, PopTech 2016. Renowned photographer Platon learned a lot about how people try to project power and shared surprising lessons about where true power comes from—seems timely, given at least 64 countries are holding elections in 2024.
