Concorde Curry Night  (with fish and chips for the Hon Sec)

Wednesday 7 November 2012

The date has been set prior to the 2012 AGM so that, amongst other things, we can discuss informally topics which need to be aired at the AGM (such as the right level of remuneration for the Hon Treasurer).

The Social Committee have had a cyber meeting to consider the options for time and place. After much discussion, not always on the precise point in hand, they have determined that we will continue with the time honoured tradition of meeting in the JD Wetherspoons Pub in Woking and repairing to the adjacent Jaipur Indian Restaurant after a suitable aperitif. The proposed timing is from 1900 in the pub and a table booked at the restaurant at 2030.

Hokey Cokey?

The two Nicks take time out from hitting boundaries to demonstrate their hokey cokey skills. Don't call the Royal Ballet!

Season gets off to a wet start

Our opening fixtures for 29 April and 6 May, and all bar one of the early net sessions, have been abandoned or cancelled due to the atrocious weather. The fine weather lasted for two days to allow the game with Thames Valley Ramblers to kick off the season. With three week's notice of the start, Cudders created a "first" by arriving on time (but only after the ground setup work was completed). It may have been a first, but most unlikely to be a precedent.

New logo and kit

Finding time on their hands during the winter, the Concorde CC Style Sub-Committee have been busy designing a new logostyle for the club and have launched the first item of branded merchandise. A sneak preview of the cap is modelled here and more pictures appear here. Members will enjoy preferential pricing on the items starting with a bargain £15 for the first 20 people to buy a cap. School uniform was never as good value as that.
