Shekh Raunak Fatima is a 9th-standard student in Z.P.Girls High School, Kuppam and she is the leader of her class. She was born in Gujarat and lived there for 12 years before shifting to Kuppam 3 years ago. She learnt to speak Telugu, one of the local languages, in a year. However, she finds reading and writing the language challenging.
B. Navyashree from 7th standard, Z.P.Girls High School, Kuppam, is a joyful girl, radiating optimism and confidence in every word she lets out. She loves coming to school and interacting with teachers and friends who show her the same love and care she gets at home.
Yashasvi Desalli is a 12-year-old girl with an ambition that can solve her family’s ongoing financial instability. She lives with her parents and 2 younger siblings (brother and sister) in Dharwad, Karnataka. Yashasvi and her siblings attend Government Higher Primary School No. 5, Gandhinagar, located in the nearby vicinity. She is in 7th grade while her sister and brother are in 4th and 1st standard, respectively.
The Akshaya Patra Foundation is a not-for-profit organisation headquartered in Bengaluru, India. The Foundation strives to eliminate classroom hunger by implementing the PM POSHAN(Mid-Day Meal ) Programme. It provides nutritious meals to children studying in government schools and government-aided schools. Akshaya Patra also aims to counter malnutrition and support the Right to Education of children hailing from socio-economically challenging backgrounds.
