Q:
Do they have Omakase here?
A:
Omakasè in Japanese means to depend on the Chef's judgement as what is good for that day. Chef Tommy is a great Sushi chef who brings in the best fish everyday so in that case, yes. However, if you mean more… more

Tommy makes some of the best sushi in the valley. Small, friendly space. A true hidden gem!

The phrase "hidden gem" has been way overused....and I'm gonna use it again. Sushi Dragon is a hidden gem. I have driven by literally hundreds of times and never even saw the restaurant, despite having been told about their excellent sushi many times by Elite Yelper Gary I. It's tucked away in a strip mall (huge parkng lot in back btw) with no flashing lights or big signs out in front. It's easy to miss; but once you've dined here, it's unforgettable.
The three of us sat at the sushi bar. If you're a regular, they will apparantly store your favorite sake in a special locker. Gary I kindly shared his delicous sake with us, as well as some delicous dishes Chef whipped up using ingredients brought in by Gary himself (clam sushi and anglerfish liver). I then went with omakase and loved every morsel of some incredibly fresh sushi.
Chef clearly has devoted fans. Other patrons had driven from the South Bay area for his sushi and lots of regulars stopped by. I can see why; I'll be back for sure.Helpful 22Thanks 2Love this 21Oh no 0 - Scott B.Tujunga, CA2431Apr 22, 2024
Amazing food every time we visit. We have been going for over 6 years because the quality of the sushi and the friendly service is unmatched. They really make you feel like you are a guest in their home. Even though it is a cozy little place they were able to accommodate 12 of us on a Friday night for a special celebration. Everything was delicious! Prices are reasonable and portions are big.

All the other reviews were right when they said this place was a hidden gem. They give generous portions and have friendly service. Sushi was fresh and tempura was grease free. This place quiet and cozy during lunch time. Only downside is they have limited lot parking but there is street parking nearby!

It's really quality sushi, and reliably so, my only reason for 4 stars is the location and small staff.
TL;DR version: Food 5/5, Service 4.5/5, Location 3/5
Most days, there is the one sushi chef, Tommy, who is also the owner, one person in the back kitchen and one server. The restaurant only seats about 20 ppl (when they are fully open they have 2 4-person booths, 4 2-person tables and about 5 spots at the sushi bar), so ordering togo can take a while. The parking lot for the strip mall has about 5 spots, but there is ample street parking unless there's an event at the park across the street.
The sushi and food is top-notch, never had a bad experience and have been coming here for years.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - David S.Panorama City, Los Angeles, CA58Feb 2, 2024
First timer and it definitely will not be my last. Tommy is serving up the fish like the true chef he is. He makes you feel like you are eating out of his own kitchen. Everything on the menu HITS. Ask for extra spicy for the tastiest sushi in the valley, and I have been to many of them. For a spot in the corner of nowhere, you need to try this place. Park in the back. I wish I could give this place more than 5 stars.

Go to this place if you actually want GOOD quality sushi. Like authentic sushi and not those 'americanized' one. I've heard stories that some people don't like their baked sushi... well hate to break it to you, but everyone needs to try the real stuff (Personally, I like their baked sushi too)
Everyone needs to try the Chirashi !! That is my to-go order every time I go with my bf... You can tell the fish is fresh, it just melts in your mouth. The chef does put a lot of love/passion into his food so I really recommend this hidden gem.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Berto D.Los Angeles, CA4132Dec 25, 2023

I love the bento from sushi dragon. They make their items fresh and the flavors are very balanced. Thank you for the miso soup with the bento. Appreciate it.
