In pictures: Kazimier Records Launch Party
An ice sculpture carved by Glacial Art's Mat Foster and Mat Chaloner marks the launch of a new record label in Liverpool.
The Kazimier Records Launch Party took place at the Kazimier Club, Liverpool on 4 February 2011.
In an interview with BBC Radio Merseyside, one of the label founders Venya Krutikov said, “We want to support new artists who we think are under-exposed and deserve a wider audience."
Sing For Your Supper (above), Simon Knighton, The Kazimier Mobile Krunk Band and Dogshow all performed at the launch, and will release albums through the label on Monday, 21 February, 2011.
Sing For Your Supper enchant the crowd with dreamy vocals, the beat of a large lit drum, an acoustic guitar and wind instruments.
Singer-songwriter Simon Knighton sings acoustic folk numbers whilst stamping his foot on a box to keep the beat.
He captivates the crowd with his husky vocals, playing from a second stage.
The Kazimier Mobile Krunk Band form a circle in the centre of the crowd and play there.
The band, which features Simon Knighton and members of Sing For Your Supper and Dogshow, are said to be a "self-amplified dance orchestra of the people".
Crowd members dance in and amongst the instruments through a sprinkling of confetti and 'Kazimier Launch Party' balloons.
Brothers Sam and Laurie Crombie perform as Dogshow.
Dogshow were voted 'Best Band of Glastonbury 2009' by Clash Music, and nominated as 'Ones to Watch in 2009' by BBC Radio Merseyside.
