Concert of the day

On May 30, 1981 Pete played a solo show at Brockwell Park in Brixton in support of a march against unemployment in Britain.

He performed "A Little Is Enough" (twice due to bad PA mix), "Cats In The Cupboard," "Big Boss Man," "Substitute," "Corrina Corrina," "Body Language," "Join Together" and "Let My Love Open The Door."

He was accompanied by Neil Abbott (guitar), Peter Hope-Evans (harmonica), Mark Brzezicki (drums) and Tony Butler (bass). Jim Capaldi comes out to do vocals for "Substitute."

Thanks to Marc Starcke for allowing us to share his collection of photos from this show!

We also have a SHORT video from this show here:

He wasn’t in best shape, drinking very heavily being away from his family

Is this Jim Capaldi on photo 4?

Love this concert

Oh to have bin there, but unfortunately I was 11! It would be a year later til my Pete/WHO obsession began!

I think it's Neil Hubbard not Abbott.

The band really dumped on Jeff Stein for being inexperienced, but the fact is, he dug up a lot of footage that might have otherwise been lost to time, and he captured some very valuable footage of the band together before Moon died. I don’t know what they would have preferred, nor what the perfect “Who movie” would be, but Stein did the best he could with the materials/circumstances surrounding him, and we got one hell of a fun movie (and *killer* soundtrack album) out of it.

Won tickets to the movie premiere in SF! Enjoyed the show and was handed a cool Who T shirt on the way out of the screening . Long Live Rock and The Who!

Glad this was resynched for the DVD release. The video I had in the 80s ran about 10% too fast and made some of Roger's singing sound Mickey Mouse-ish

Great movie 🍿 Loved Tommy Smothers!

It's odd to see a "writing" credit on a documentary. Since 'Kids' is almost entirely archival footage; with no narration.

Stein later worked on the Barney Miller sitcom. It's always a kick to see his name in the credits.

love, love, love this film 🎥

Keith and John Rest In Peace

I have the DVD special edition

Most Excellent movie!

Awesome album and movie

That movie and soundtrack changed my life!

Iconic photo

when will we see a sequel?

I'm tellin' 'ya, toward the end, where Moon was wearing the Esso uniform was in (Pontiac?) Michigan, and it was my birthday, the sixth, movie says like, ninth. I got a cat that day! I could swear that's how I got my "boyfriend" to spend $8.00 on me!

Montevideo (Uruguay)

A fucking Masterpiece!

The prices remind me that Tom Petty’s label informed him his record would sell for $9.98. Petty said, “Then I’ll title the album $8.98.” The label backed down.

Actually a Really good and underated song and if it wasn't released as single probably should have been

The first time I watched this a very young Adele came on and sang.

Sunrise is a Beautiful song with Rachel Fuller voice

Great song! From one of my most played Who albums.

I really appreciate these posts. It’s nice to see their individual work, as well as their work together as The Who

One of my favorite Who songs, a sometimes overlooked gem. I think we’ve all felt this way about someone. Pete Schille ❤️

It feels like he would jump and jump spliting his legs in joy.

I love Pete . So much talent in one man

Love this, I only became aware of Rachel's In The Attic long after the fact, I have watched them on YT and thoroughly enjoyed them, I love the one with A Quick One While He's Away.

From the Who album Who Sell out. Can't reach you. It's a cool album. 😎 1967. It's a little bit psychedelic album. But pretty cool.

Beautiful song 😍

Were either of the Oceanic shows filmed?

The Attic performance

👍👍

❤️
