The D-05 is a
high-grade D Series CD player designed to produce a quiet sound
field and reproduce acute sound. The D-05 was developed by
applying the know-how and technologies acquired while developing
the D Series with the original LxD TM drive mechanism, digital
circuits with higher model specifications equipped with high
sound quality DAC of surprising dynamic range, and analogue

The D-06 is an
SACD/CD player exclusively for two-channel units, incorporating
innovative audio and digital technologies as well as new that
would later be adopted in the flagship D-08 model. The D-06’s
analogue circuits have given birth to new life for acoustic
sources, including many innovative units such as the original
LxD TM drive mechanism featuring high-precision reading ability
while producing both high rigidity and quietude,
high-sound-quality DAC with a surprisingly wide dynamic range of
up to 132 dB like the D-08, digital circuits adopting the
PCM1792A in a dual monaural composition, a power transformer
exclusive for audio circuits, and a fully balanced,
high-sound-quality buffer circuit.

Luxman D-08
SACD/CD Player
D-08 has finally
completed by introducing our know-how and technical breakthrough
to improve sound quality newly obtained in development of our
flagship model, the 1000 series amplifier, into all of 3
components, “Disk Drive, Digital Circuit, and Analogue Circuit"
that compose a digital player. We have newly developed our
original drive mechanism LxDTM* as the signal reading device
that is an essential component in a player. What is more, we
have embedded the latest TI-manufactured PCM1792A that provides
as much as 132dB (theoretical value) of tremendous dynamic range
into the digital section in a dual configuration. We have
adopted the analogue section equipped with fully discrete balanced
ODNF (Only Distortion Negative Feedback) that is a symbol of our
technology for pursing high quality sound into the digital
player for the first time. This product is a sound reproduction
system in the new area that pulls up sound information
thoroughly contained in software.

Audiolab 8200CDQ CD player, DAC &
preamplifier
In addition
to the 8200CD, the 8200CDQ adds full preamp functionality whilst
maintaining the same chassis size as the 8200CD. The existing
digital inputs are joined by three line-level analogue inputs,
providing source selection and volume control in the analogue
domain. The preamplifier section is fully balanced and all
analogue input signals are converted to balanced form, helping
to reduce distortion and noise. Class A gain structures are
present throughout, and users may choose between
preamplification in the analogue or digital domain in respect of
the digital inputs. In addition, the 8200CDQ adds a
direct-coupled, discrete, Class A headphone amplifier,
accessible via a socket on the front panel.
John Westlake leads the design team responsible for developing
the 8200CD and 8200CDQ. Johnʼs technical skills have delivered
award-winning digital audio products spanning the last two
decades and a variety of companies have benefited from his
expertise. John is convinced that the 8200CD and 8200CDQ are the
finest CD players he has ever designed.
This is a truly remarkable unit combining a CD player, a DAC and
