Aug. 14, 2008 — -- Singer Miley Cyrus is one of the biggest celebrities on earth -- a hero to thousands.

"Good Morning America" recently caught up with the teen sensation while she was posing for a photo shoot for the cover of Seventeen magazine's back-to-school issue.

But during the shoot, Miley, along with "Good Morning America" and Seventeen, had another plan up her sleeve -- to give the surprise of a lifetime to another kind of hero.

Alyssa Goya, 13, of Phoenix Ariz. has spent her days after school doing what she can for others. She started a Make-a-Wish club on her school's campus, the first one in Arizona. She's raised more than $30,000 so far to help and bring smiles to very sick children.

"I always feel those who give more are going to gain more," Alyssa told "GMA."

One of the highlights so far for Alyssa was a "wish party" she planned and organized for Princesa Gonzalez, who was the recent recipient of a bone marrow transplant which will help her battle a deadly immune disorder.

"There's really nothing better than that feeling of being the one who created this wish for them," Alyssa said.

But what wish would Alyssa want granted herself? According to her family, it would be to meet her idol, Miley Cyrus.

So when "Good Morning America" invited Alyssa to a Seventeen magazine "teenager event," she had no idea what was really in store.

"I'm so excited to see her reaction from when I walk in," Miley told "GMA" conspiratorially. "She's hopefully extremely excited and more excited than I am to meet her because I know she's done a great thing."

So Miley hid in a dressing room until Alyssa was led in.

One yelp of surprise and a big hug later, Alyssa and Miley were able to have some regular girl moments together while they looked at clothes and shopped and, for just a little while, the wish-granter got to live a dream of her own.

Seventeen magazine also got in on the fun by granting Alyssa one of every teenage girl's wishes: a brand new back-to-school wardrobe.
