Cairnstorm Irish Wolfhounds website...
Nicky has owned & adored Irish Wolfhounds for many years, although she only began showing, & registered her affix, in 1998. It has always been her aim to breed for type & temperament with good health & longevity of prime importance. Our previous pack of 4 hounds all lived long, healthy lives with the oldest being Gloria who lived to 11yrs 4mths.
There are no formal kennels at Cairnstorm, the hounds live with us and they are an integral part of our lives. At present we have just 2 adult Wolfhounds , our lovely girl 'Stan', now 7.5 years old & her son, 'Kaleb', now 2.5 years old.
Nicky is now working in partnership with Kaye Spry (Killoughery) & we breed only when we want a puppy ourselves - this could be 1 litter every year or two -sometimes more, sometimes less - so there will occasionally be Cairnstorm & Killoughery puppies available to carefully selected homes.
All our hounds are heart tested yearly from age 2yrs, each autumn, at the South West IWHG Regional Testing session held at Newlands Farm.
All puppies are liver shunt tested, wormed, vaccinated & KC registered. They leave with puppy packs containing detailed information sheets, food, toys, 4 weeks free insurance & 24/7 lifetime help & advice. All puppies have their KC registrations endorsed 'progeny not for registration', in line with Irish Wolfhound Club & Society recommended practice.
If you are looking for a Wolfhound puppy we often know of other reputable breeders who may have puppies available, if not we can give out contact information for the breed's club & society secretaries, so it is always worth making contact. Alternatively you can take a look at the Irish Wolfhound Puppies Website set up by a well respected breeder this site has lots of good information & regional contacts to help you find a well bred puppy from a good breeder anywhere in the UK. This is the ONLY site I would recommend for people searching for a puppy on the internet.
We are full members of both The Irish Wolfhound Club & The Irish Wolfhound Society and we follow their Code of Conduct.
Nicky is an Irish Wolfhound Club & Society C list Breed Specialist Judge.
We also have an Irish Black & Tan Terrier, Ellie, & a Springer Spaniel, TJ.
