Get ready for the finale of our gorgeous winter season gigs- and what a set of dreamy events they have been. Thank you to everyone who has come along and supported independent original music over the cold damp days of winter, we’ve seen it through!
The last but not least gig in our winter and spring season, what a way to finish! Hands of the Heron will mesmerise and transport you with their effortless blending of sparing choral folk & spellbinding chamber pop, richly layered with strings, drones & reeds.
As the days grow longer and the weeds begin to sprout we can throw off our winter vests and start enjoying spring, so just before throwing caution to the wind we‘re celebrating all those vests that have kept the chills away, with our one day indoor(maybe a bit outdoor) extravaganza of music and crafty doings ! First out of the draw we’ll have an emerging artists show-case where new material can raise its head proudly for our supportive anticipatory audience.
There will be forest school crafts, wood-crafts, percussive dance workshops, storytelling and some other surprises to dip into throughout the afternoon and evening.
We’ll have some lovely late afternoon jazz from The Old Malt House Jazz Band followed by a mighty folkathon with the multi talented James Patrick Gavin, Jess Collins and Charlie Wheatley. This will include original music, a ceilidh and a folk session, if you turn up with an instrument and join in the session there’s a drink and a hearty soup awaiting you.
Our cafe and bar will be serving alcoholic beverages, hot food, snacks, tea and cake.
There’s something for everyone no matter how old or young , so come along and throw off your Vinter Vests with us.

What a treat to welcome back Around About Dusk, an original project from some of the infamous musicians often seen capering about as The Gin Bowlers. They offer a unique journey through the vibrant fusion of New Orleans jazz, European folk, and old-time influences, their music features captivating melodies and harmonies, telling tales of wonder and nature with nods to chanson and musette.

A delightful evening of contemporary folk performed by world class trio. Gavin Fairhall Leverbrings together three acclaimed musicians to present a fresh, contemporary folk music born of their diverse roots. Irish punk fiddle meets jazz bass and Balkan guitar, in a colourful mix of the traditional and the original. Together, the venturesome internationally acclaimed trio represent the best of collaborative creation, and are a compelling new voice on the contemporary folk scene Fanny’s infamous HQ kitchen has doubled in size as she’s knocked a wall down to create an intimate folk club of her very own. We have emerging artist De Ja Vu opening the evening and there will be a bar and a delicious seasonal heart warming supper if you fancy one. If it looks like it’ll be a squash and a squeeze then we’ll move across the road to the Angel pub skittle alley.

A thrilling suffusion of Sunday afternoon Jazz and swing to get you tingling with delight. The Gin Bowlers need no introduction, their legendary naughtiness and infectious zeal and energy will have us all on our feet. Dress for factory life as heating is experimental at the Zig Zag but dancing and the delicious zig zag Sunday Supper will definitely get the cockles warmed up.

Erika Lewis is better known as the vocalist with New Orleans ’ Tuba Skinny’ jazz band, since moving onto solo projects she has been creating American originals of her own . She is joined on her grass roots UK tour by guitarist and songwriter Steven Paris and multi instrumentalist/songwriter, Leonie Evans. Together they create a rich musical tapestry drawing from the blues, gospel, country, jazz and the roots of American folk music.
