Built between 1607 and 1612 for the tutor to Prince Henry of Wales, son of James I, Charlton House is one of the U.K.'s finest examples of a Jacobean manor home.
The building has been home over the years to nobility, prime ministers, and, in times of trial, medical centres. Now a historical landmark and attraction, the House & Gardens are regularly open to the public for lunch and tea, events for all ages, private hire, and self-guided tours.
