The Old Smithy Recording Studios have been providing top quality recording and mixing services for over 45 years.

Established in 1977 we are one of the West Midlands largest recording studios.  Completely custom built for purpose with a large control room and a HUGE live room.  We have decades of experience recording, with sessions ranging from solo artists all the way up to 50+ strong choirs and 30 piece orchestras.

Outstanding acoustics (designed by Keith Slaughter – Abbey Road, Odyssey Studios), state of the art technology and professional, experienced engineer; make the studio an ideal location for ANY type of recording and mixing projects.

We currently run a hybrid Studio One / Pro Tools system and our acoustically balanced control room allows us to capture every last detail of your performance with confidence.

Monitoring is provided by a pair of soffit mounted Quested/ATC far-fields and custom built nearfield speakers.

Our spacious live room also holds a beautiful 7ft Rosewood Steinway grand piano that has been used on countless recordings during its time at The Old Smithy Recording Studio.

We can record up to 24 simultaneous tracks at a wonderful 32 bit 96kHz resolution; so it’s possible for everyone to set up and play LIVE to really capture your performance.  Or we can build everything up layer by layer, it’s up to you.
