Children’s Chartered Psychologist

Job Title: Children's Chartered Psychologist

Location: West Midlands

Job Type: Full-time

 

Vero Consulting are working exclusively with a leading Therapeutic Children’s Care Provider who are looking for an experienced Children's Clinical Psychologist. As the Chartered Psychologist you will be leading the clinical division, responsible for assessing, diagnosing, and providing evidence-based interventions to children living in residential homes.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive psychological assessments to evaluate children's emotional, cognitive, and behavioural functioning.

  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on assessments and collaboration with other professionals involved in the child's care.

  • Provide individual and group therapy sessions to children using evidence-based interventions.

  • Monitor and evaluate treatment progress, modifying treatment plans as necessary.

  • Provide consultation to staff and senior leadership on effective strategies for managing challenging behaviours and promoting positive

  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure integrated care and continuity of services.

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date clinical records and documentation.

  • Participate in ongoing professional development and continuing education opportunities.

 

Essential Experience:

  • MSc in Clinical Psychology (or equivalent)

  • HCPC Registered Practitioner Psychologist

  • Experience working with children and young people in a social care setting

  • Knowledge of evidence-based interventions for common mental health relating to trauma.

  • Experience leading Trauma informed practice

  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.

  • Ability to lead and develop an Assistant Psychologist

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.

  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and staying up-to-date with current research and best practices in the field.

 

Desirable Experience

  • A Chartered Member of the British Psychological Society

  • Experience working with Children and Young People in a Residential setting

 

Salary – £55,000 - £65,000 (negotiable based on experience) + private healthcare and a comprehensive benefits package
