Here at CheckMate Chess we’re on a mission to see chess clubs in ALL Gloucestershire primary schools.

In recent years we have coached over 250 children from a total of 16 local schools. With five of these schools we have gone further by:

• Running their lunchtime and after-school chess clubs
  Coaching beginners and intermediates alike using wall-hanging Demo boards
  
• Arranging competitions and matches
  
• Bringing chess onto their main curriculum as we have done recently with a Cheltenham school
