Hi, I’m Steven Dean.
I run a consulting practice helping management teams build new digital health products, services, and businesses.
I also help founders start new digital health companies. And I help launch new health care venture studios like Foresite Labs to bring new ideas to market.
I work with organizations to build new digital health products including Ophelia, Origin, Ro, Parsley, Calibrate, and others through Arabella Labs.
I’m also part of Prehype, a group of entrepreneurs who help each other build new ventures. (Edwin Health, Ro, Barkbox, Public, Edwin Secure, and more)
And I teach Service Design, Systems Design & Entrepreneurship in the Products of Design Master’s Program at the School of Visual Arts in NYC.

At Arabella Labs, we are building the Origin platform, a digital health company providing providing physical therapy for women and mothers.
Ophelia
At Arabella Labs, we designed and built the tech stack including the member and clinician experience for Ophelia, a digital health company providing medication-assisted treatment for opioid use disorder.
Parsley Health
At Arabella Labs, we designed and built parts of the tech stack for the clinician experience for Parsley Health, a digital health company that offers a functional, whole body approach to primary care medicine.
Vagus Labs
I’m a founder of Vagus Labs, a health company that has a set of patented algorithms that use subtle vibration, light, and electrical pulse stimulation for use in wearables, hearables, and other devices to enhance physical and mental health.

I’m advising and consulting with Northwell Health on developing new digital products and coaching services for alcohol moderation and substance use disorder.

Steven Dean
A designer, entrepreneur, and educator, Steven has built new ventures, products, and services for some of the most innovative health and wellness brands. His particular area of expertise addresses how behavior change, technology, and design are used to shape how we make changes at the individual, societal, and organizational levels. A leader in the field of service design, behavior change, quantified self, and health innovation, he is a frequent speaker at industry forums and academic institutions and has served as adjunct professor at Rhode Island School of Design, Parsons, NYU ITP, and School of Visual Arts.
Along with his work at G51 Studio, Steven is a managing partner at Arabella Labs, a software & product development company, and a partner at Prehype, a venture development firm that helps large organizations innovate like startups.
Steven's inspiration in life and work is found in the wisdom he's gained as an Ironman triathlete and an ultra-marathon distance runner.
