Our Mission

We create community and cultivate connections for adult Korean adoptees in Chicagoland and the Midwest

KOREAN ADOPTEES OF CHICAGO

About

KATCH aims to build positive connections among adult Korean adoptees and with the larger transracial adoptee and API communities. We hold space for members of our community to learn, grow, bond, give back, and build awareness around issues related to transracial adoption, API experiences, and multiculturalism.

We host monthly social, cultural, and educational events, and offer volunteer and mentoring opportunities throughout the year. We also engage in advocacy to directly support our community.

KATCH is a member of IKAA (International Korean Adoptee Associations) and the USA KAD associations network.

February 2008

KATCH is founded

Kim Langrehr, Anne Mills, and Katie Stefani met each other at the International Korean Adoptee Association’s (IKAA) Mini-Gathering in Las Vegas, NV and began to build the adult Korean adoptee community that is now known as KATCH – Korean Adoptees of Chicago.
