Welcome

Welcome to Littlehampton Railway, the oldest 12.25” gauge railway in Britain!

We are a miniature railway running alongside the sea wall, from our base at Mewsbrook Park to Norfolk Gardens.

Since the opening in 1948, the railway has seem many ups and downs over the years, but we intend to ensure the railway once again becomes a credit to the town and is seen as an essential part of a day out to the Sussex seaside.

As part of this initiative, we opened a Visitor Centre, based in the Engine Shed, which shows some of the history of the railway, along with an N Gauge exhibit, where visitors are able to become ‘Engine Driver’  and some very reasonably priced goods for sale. During High Season we also have a Garden Railway outside, where people can watch ‘Oh So Slowly’, make its way around the track, through the bushes and across the bridge.

We are a seasonal attraction, which is now closed for maintenance work  until February Half Term 2015. For regular updates and upcoming events, please follow us on Facebook.

We look forward to welcoming you on board our family friendly railway in 2015.
