What is Transcendental Meditation?

Practiced sitting comfortably, eyes closed for 20 minutes twice a day, TM is the effortless use of a silent mantra (or sound), which allows the mind the freedom to be still. The body enters states of deep rest, and so releases accumulated stress. It brings results more quickly and profoundly than systems involving effort or control.
