MW Sports CIC was formed in 2014 by Michael Wilde and Stephen Murphy, building on three years of success of MW Sports. We are a non-profitable Community Interest Company based in Merseyside, dedicated to the positive role that sport can play in furthering the lives of people across the North West.

Coaching

The aim of any MW Sports session is to provide young people with the opportunity to learn the basic skills of the chosen sport, whilst understanding the importance of being physically active.

This is done by developing the basic skills of a sport through a variety of coaching drills, we then progress the sessions where young people put this into an opposed skill practice, finally young people will play a game with the chance to implement the skills learnt.

Community

In recent years MW Sports have worked with the Local councillors, NHS, Involve North West, Youth Federation, The Vikes Youth club, Sports Leaders, Utopia Project CIC and Merseyside and Cheshire Police to achieve their aims of having a positive effect on young people’s lives. MW Sports had previously run the re-formed Chester FC soccer schools.
