Meeting Topic:
“A Year of Growing Dahlias,” by DSC president Erik Gaensler. Learn what to do (and not do) with a step-by-step overview. May’s meeting is great for dahlia gardeners of all levels.

Judging School:
Saturday, July 27, 2024

Annual Dahlia Show:
Saturday and Sunday, August 17-18, 2024
County Fair Building, Golden Gate Park

Each summer, on the third weekend in August, the Dahlia Society of California draws thousands of visitors to its annual show in the enormous Hall of Flowers. Growers from all over the state bring their best blooms. Blooms in all categories are judged and awarded ribbons, including the elusive “Best in Show.” Other categories: Best Photo; People’s Choice Award; Best Arrangement; Best Junior Bloom; and “Nature’s Oddities.” You must be a member to compete, but the public is welcome to see this eye-popping event.

VOLUNTEER AT THE DELL

We are always looking for volunteers to help us maintain the Dahlias located at the Dell in Golden Gate Park. You must be a member to volunteer.

Existing members:
The American Dahlia Society has changed its Membership Year from January through December to May 1st through April 30th of the next year. They have also slightly increased membership prices. If you are a current DSC or ADS/DSC member, don’t worry. Your memberships will be carried from January through the end of April. Please renew in April.
