Underwater Hull Cleaning

A major cost of operating a ship is the cost of fuel. Any reduction in fuel consumption will result in a direct and proportional reduction in operating costs.

Keeping the hull and propeller surfaces smooth will minimize waste and improve the speed and/or distance to be gained from burning a barrel of fuel.

The self-propelled, diver driven SCAMP® cleaning machine is effective and economical.

Underwater Painting

Seaward was instrumental in developing and refining a solution to underwater structure preservation and corrosion problems.

Seaward uses the HYCOTE underwater paint formulation, which features a unique 2-part epoxy coating which is specifically designed to be applied in wet environments.

The cured coating has excellent resistance to a wide range of chemicals and has a hard, smooth finish with a very low drag co-efficient.

Lamp Ray® ROV

Seaward’s Lamp Ray® ROV is a portable underwater robotic hull scanner integrated with a topside data acquisition system and controller.

It performs a comprehensive hull material condition survey using sensors for ultrasonic testing, dry film thickness, and cathodic potential.

A visual data presentation with high precision ship coordinates simplifies rapid condition assessment for the customer.
